Artificial Monsters

They told you to trust the science.

They also told you to walk one direction down the grocery aisle, and maybe — just maybe — if you were good, you could celebrate July 4th in your backyard.

They told you to stand six feet apart while standing in line for a vaccine that may or may not end the emergency that may or may not be over.

Artificial Monsters is a time capsule from the age of COVID, built out of sarcasm, side-eyes, and the occasional A.I.-generated nudge.  I didn’t set out to write a book about COVID — I just kept writing while the world lost its mind.

Forged in confusion and contradictions, this collection doesn’t offer healing, unity, or closure.  It offers something more honest: my own efforts to process the absurdities, hypocrisies, and Kafka-grade compliance that passed for normal.

This isn’t just a collection of blog posts littered with hot takes, sharp observations, and nearly-sane dispatches from a worldwide pandemic.

It’s a throat punch to mass conformity, a love letter to critical thinking, and a well-earned laugh in the face of fear.

Artificial Monsters

A darkly funny, nearly-sane chronicle of one man's journey through the absurdity of the COVID era. Artificial Monsters is a time capsule built from sarcasm, clarity, and the occasional AI-assisted eye roll. Randy Tharp didn't write it to help you heal — he wrote it so you'd know you weren't the only one paying attention.
