The Meeting

On a Thursday morning a few weeks ago, 5 men ranging in age from 35 to 50 met on a conference call from their cubicles located in California and Texas.  One of them called in from his car.

The subject de jour was to discuss the ongoing discrepancies recently identified in a listing of transaction codes.  Balance indicators and descriptions were also discussed.  A few of the invited participants read the headlines on the Internet at the same time.  Another participant (the facilitator) typed a blog on his smart phone while asking the occasional question designed to make it look like he was paying attention.

Action items were assigned.  Another meeting was scheduled.  No other progress was appreciated or anticipated.

The can was successfully kicked down the road.
